There are three Chaya districts in Kanazawa. Two of them are along the Asanogawa River.
The Asanogawa River is called Onna-gawa, feminnine river, because of its gentle stream.
Along its gentle stream there is one, Kazue-machi. The other is Higashi Chaya district.
Along the stone-paved streets, much old architecture with latticed windows oozes elegant taste.
Near these district is Owari-cho, where many merchants and
craftsmen came to live when the Lord Toshiie Maeda entered Kanazawa Castle.
Near Machiya-Kanazawa there remains vestige of Shogunate Era.
